Federal prosecutors are pushing back on the request for a trial delay by talent manager Eugene “Big U” Henley.
In court documents obtained by Complex, the government claims that the home a cooperating witness in the case was vandalized after their identity was revealed on social media. A message reading “rat” was spray-painted on the home of the witness.
"That exposure is not hypothetical," the government wrote in an Oct. 26 opposition filing, adding that the six cooperating witnesses are at risk of having a “weakened” memory of the trial delay is granted.
On Oct. 23, Henley’s lawyers, Charles C. Brown and Andrea Luem, filed an emergency motion to move the trial from Feb. 16, 2027, to Oct. 19, 2027.
The defense says they have discovered evidence that includes 1.1 million pages and 29,612 audio and video files and have argued against the trial postponement.
In the seven newer counts, it’s presumed that around June 10, the alleged gang leader offered two fellow inmates money to hurt or kill a witness identified as Victim-1 to prevent them from testifying. Henley has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors plan to call about fifty witnesses. While least five are in custody, one will be required to travel internationally.
At the top of the year, Henley complained of alleged mistreatment, claiming that he was restricted from using his CPAP machine and was fearful of falling asleep with concerns of “serious health consequences.”
Henley, who has been detained since his March 2025 arrest, is alleged to have orchestrated the 2021 murder of rapper Rayshawn Williams, whose body was found off I-15 outside Las Vegas. The 59-year-old, who was Nipsey Hussle's former manager, faces fifty counts, including racketeering conspiracy, extortion, fraud and witness tampering.
