Just days after suggesting that 50 Cent isn’t as strong lyrically speaking as he used to be, Maino dressed up as the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper for Halloween.
In a video shared on Instagram, Maino playfully referenced his ongoing feud with Fif by dressing up as the rapper in his iconic Get Rich or Die Tryin’ era aesthetic while rapping along to “What Up Gangsta.” In the caption for the post, he wrote, “I gotta stop! I think I love Halloween.”
On a recent episode of the Lets Rap About It podcast, which 50 Cent has repeatedly called out, Maino criticized Fif for “going bad” lyrically as he aged. “If I picked up a pen, I don’t think that I’m far off from where I was,” podcast host Joe Budden said during the conversation about rappers getting worse as they age. “If you lose the passion, you’re going to go bad,” Fabolous added, prompting Budden to ask for an example and Maino quickly naming 50 Cent.
After that, Budden came to 50 Cent’s defense. “I don’t think he went bad,” Budden said. “I think if he got in the studio…he can go in there and write four theme songs.” After Budden said that, Maino joked about cutting off Budden’s mic. In December, Fif posted on Instagram and accused the show’s hosts of being “squatters” who owe $250,000 for the place where they’re filming their podcast.
More recently, Maino also showcased another Halloween costume, this time for the Halloween episode of Let’s Rap About It. In the episode, he dressed up as Rick Ross and spoofed the rapper’s recent comments after he was released on bail last month following his arrest for domestic battery. “I need silence,” Maino said in a video showing off the outfit. “First of all, I am totally innocent of all the fabricated allegations against me… By the weekend I will be in Dubai, Paris on Saturday, and on Sunday I’ll sit down with a bowl of rigatoni with heavy marinara.”
