In high school, she tried to convince herself she was a lesbian so she could fit in with the musical theater clique, which was led by a gay student she admired named Benji.
Her first car was a Honda Passport. Before that, she would steal her mom's car just to go to the drive-thru at McDonalds.
On a backpacking trip to Amsterdam at 19, Caplan stopped in the city's red light district and watched a live sex show.
