There are people who will try to tell you with a straight face that the sweaty and grueling summer months, or more believably the Santa Claus-focused sprint from Black Friday to “Auld Lang Syne,” can lay claim to being the best time of any given year. Given the existence of Halloween, these people would be wrong.
Megan Thee Stallion, mercifully, kickstarted the 2026 Halloween season earlier this month with the latest entry in the Grammy winner’s long-running series of well-timed photos of herself in full pumpkin-headed regalia. For those somehow unfamiliar with this tradition, here’s the gist: When Megan drops the pumpkin pics, Halloween has formally begun.
Of course, a key aspect of the season is keeping tabs on people with virtually unlimited resources who opt to throw some bills in the general direction of thrills and chills every October.
Below, we take a look at this year’s highlights (so far). For our ranking of the 10 best celebrity Halloween costumes of the past 10 years, see here.
Kim Kardashian as North West
Kim Kardashian dressed as her and the artist formerly known as Kanye West’s eldest child, North West, this year.
Paris Hilton as Britney Spears
This isn’t the first time Paris Hilton has dressed as Britney Spears for Halloween. This year, she took inspiration from Britney’s 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U,” snake and all.
North West as Natalie Nunn (and more)
Baddies star Natalie Nunn was the inspiration for North West’s most widely headlined Halloween look this year, chin included. The N0rth4evr artist has also debuted other 2026 Halloween costumes on TikTok.
Natalie Nunn as North West
Natalie Nunn quickly returned the favor by dressing as North West, soundtracking her social posts with the 13-year-old’s “Piercing on My Hand” track.
Owen Thiele and Benito Skinner as PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson
Adults standout Owen Thiele and Overcompensating star Benito Skinner teamed up to dress as PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson.
Janelle Monáe as Carrie (and more)
Carrie roared back into the zeitgeist in a big way this year thanks to Mike Flanagan’s series adaptation of the Stephen King classic. Naturally, Janelle Monáe went full Carrie White for a Cinespia screening of Brian De Palma’s original film adaptation, which turns 50 this year.
Monáe is a veritable Halloween enthusiast, meaning this is far from the only look they’re doling out for 2026.
Chloe Bailey as Meg Griffin
Chloe Bailey took inspiration from a fan’s X post for a self-described “hot” take on the familiar Family Guy character.
Arguably, Halloween is a permanent state of mind. As such, this story will be updated in the coming days.
