Key Takeaways

  • Chucky creator Don Mancini rejected Nicki Minaj’s AI-generated “Vote Red” Chucky image, declaring the doll “part of the blue wave.”
  • Mancini shared real Chucky dolls sporting an “I Voted” sticker and blue hair, writing, “Chucky has a trans kid” and “Chucky is anti-ICE.”
  • Minaj has referenced Chucky for years, including in her “Monster” verse, but the article reports she had not posted since the election results came in.

Don Mancini, creator of the Child's Play franchise, is pushing back against Nicki Minaj after the rapper featured a Chucky doll in a Republican-themed Election Day post.

On Tuesday (Nov. 3), Mancini directly addressed Minaj on X, making it clear that the fictional killer doll does not share the rapper’s political allegiance.

"IMPOSTER. CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION,” he wrote in response to her post, which features an AI-generated Chucky doll in a suit and a "Vote Red" pin sitting in a lavish pink office while looking at a phone.

In another post, Mancini shared a photo of a Chucky doll wearing an "I Voted" sticker and holding a Glenda figurine, writing, “Chucky has a trans kid. Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE is coming, as BLUE as my fuckin’ eyes!’”

He followed up with another image showing Chucky with streaks of blue hair and captioned it, “Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way! #bluewave”

The Pink Friday 2 rapper publicly embraced President Donald Trump and the Republican party over a year ago. At the top of the year, Minaj spoke at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C. and called the president his “number one fan.”

Minaj recently repeated anti-trans rhetoric on Oct. 25 during a rally in Michigan.

"We want our children to grow up in a place where we can be proud of. We don't want our children to be bombarded with sex changes, right?" she said, per USA Today. "We want people to leave the children alone, leave them out of it."

Minaj has referenced Chucky for years, including in her verse for “Monster” and countless posts on X. The rapper has not posted since the election results came in.

As explained by NPR, Democrats secured full control of both chambers of Congress in the 2026 midterms, with voter dissatisfaction over high costs of living and governance issues propelling Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.

The newly-elected Democratic majorities will have the authority to initiate congressional investigations and block executive appointments. However, substantial legislative breakthroughs face gridlock because President Donald Trump retains veto power.
