Jay-Z, as you certainly already know by now, is next up on the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage. But amid the ensuing speculation as to who HOV might bring out as a special guest come February, an alternative halftime headliner has been proposed: PinkPantheress.
The option was presented as a joke in a recent X post, which shouldn’t really be taken as a swipe at the Fancy Some More? artist given that the Super Bowl stage is typically reserved for artists who are much deeper into their journey. That makes the HOV pick feel particularly inevitable.
“The gays are crying that Jay-Z is doing the halftime show and then you ask them who should do it and they’ll look you straight in the face and say [PinkPantheress],” reads a post shared to X on Tuesday (Oct. 27), notably at the height of HOV Bowl commentary.

PinkPantheress was quick to respond, offering an appropriately gibberish-esque response of, and this is a direct quote, “AQKWKIDDHDJWIJEDNDJ.”
Naturally, the person who made the joke promptly folded.
“Wait,” they wrote in a swiftly delivered follow-up. “Pretend you didn’t see that. … [I love you].”
With Jay locked in for next year, the discourse has been divided into two distinct conversations. For one, will HOV go solo, or will he bring out a cavalcade of special guests? And perhaps more pressingly, does this mean we should expect a new album?
