50 Cent is doubling down on his efforts to put a stop to what he describes as Tia Kemp’s “deliberate decision” to use his son “as a prop and a punchline.”
As seen in court docs viewed by Complex, Fif, on behalf of his 14-year-old son, is suing Kemp, a former romantic partner to Rick Ross. Kemp shares a 21-year-old son with Ross, and as you may recall, Fif recently joked about an alleged assault incident involving him.
Kemp has since publicly taken aim at Fif and his family, including his youngest son, a minor.
“Ms. Kemp shamelessly used the label ‘on the spectrum’ as a pejorative slur hurled at a child to humiliate him and his family,” Fif’s lawyers argued in a complaint filed Oct. 26. “But autism is not shameful. What is shameful is fabricating a diagnosis for a private child, inventing a sexually degrading cause for it, and broadcasting both to a mass audience in order to degrade him. Autistic children and adults deserve dignity and respect, and autism is never a proper target for ridicule or a weapon to be used against anyone, particularly a child.”
The Street Fighter star is asking for a California court to hold Kemp “accountable” for sharing these “knowingly false” statements by awarding damages, barring her from continuing to share such statements, and affording a minor child “the protection that the law promises him.”
The specific claims made by the G-Unit Film & Television mogul on behalf of his son include libel and slander, false light invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. “False light,” for those unfamiliar, is a specific type of privacy invasion centered on the sharing of misleading information about an individual that would widely be considered as particularly outrageous.
In this instance, as Fif argues in the complaint, the false light in which Kemp placed his son “would be highly offensive to a reasonable person, and is especially so as to a 14-year-old child.”
The complaint sees 50 Cent requesting a jury trail and damages of at least $2 million for each count, plus a permanent injunction requiring Kemp to take down the “false and defamatory” statements in question and not share them again.
