It’s been a frustrating stretch for the Dallas Cowboys, who have lost three of their last four games. Adding to the frustration was the injury that tight end Jake Ferguson suffered in Dallas’ 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday. Ferguson left the game early due to an ankle sprain.
Cowboys fans and Ferguson fantasy football owners are now wondering if he will play this week against the Indianapolis Colts. Below, we will dish out a Ferguson injury update.
Jake Ferguson fantasy football injury update: Is Cowboys TE playing this week?
Ferguson is listed as questionable to play in Sunday’s game against the Colts. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to the injury, and he was limited on Friday.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer did say the results of the testing on Ferguson’s ankle were “positive.”
Dallas has not said how severe the ankle injury is, but we speculate that the injury is somewhere between a Grade 1 and Grade 2 ankle sprain. It takes 1-to-3 weeks to recover from a mild ankle sprain, and 4-to-6 weeks to recover from a moderate ankle sprain.
That said, NFL players are built different and often play through low ankle sprains.
It is likely that Ferguson gives it a go for Dallas’ Sunday 1 p.m. ET game against the Colts in Indianapolis.
Here is a look at the Cowboys’ upcoming schedule.
- Week 9 Sunday, November 8: Cowboys at Colts
- Week 10 Sunday, November 15: 49ers at Cowboys
- Week 11 Sunday, November 22: Titans at Cowboys
- Week 12 Thursday, November 26: Eagles at Cowboys
- Week 13 Monday, December 7: Cowboys at Seahawks
Dallas’ bye week comes in Week 14.
