Keke Palmer feels like she was robbed.
On Sunday, during the BET Awards, the actress commandeered the microphone from the night’s host, Druski, telling him, “This should have been my gig.”
“Why the hell would they have you host? And this is the problem with BET. They be tripping because this should have been me,” she said, jokingly.
Palmer then took it upon herself to introduce the next artist. “I got it. This next performance is by a Grammy Award-winning artist who came through dripping, it has been up til it's stuck,” she said. “Give it up for the one and only Cardi B.”
Cardi went on to perform four songs from her sophomore album, Am I the Drama?: "ErrTime,” "Hello,” "Check Please,” and "Pretty & Petty.”
A longer clip of Palmer and Druski’s interaction sees the comedian approaching Keke in the audience and calling her “fine shit.”
“I’m not here for no relationship,” Palmer tells him. “This is a working relationship. Didn’t you just get the Forbes list?” she asks, before telling him to bring her “a bag.”
“You like a brother that spend that shit,” Druski says, smiling, quoting Yung Miami’s viral song, “Spend Dat.”
“You doing too much,” Palmer says, prompting Druski to apologize.
While Palmer hasn’t yet hosted the BET Awards, she’s previously acted as the main presenter for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, the 2023 Soul Train Awards, and the 2026 Billboard Women in Music event.
