Druski went into the archives and brought out one of his most popular skits to open the BET Awards 2026.
After T.I. opened up the awards ceremony with a career-spanning medley, the internet personality and comedian hit the stage via harness to recreate his megachurch skit. In the viral video that was posted in January, Druski trolled exploitive pastors who put on a show for vulnerable congregants.
During his debut as BET Awards host, Druski kept many of the same elements of the skit in the opening monologue but was joined by a gospel choir who roasted select attendees. After shouting out Latto and Teyana Taylor, both whom he joked were “impregnated with the word of God,” Druski also mentioned Tyler Perry’s $1.4 billion-dollar net worth, and the $200 million dollar net worth of Stevie Wonder, which was hilariously typed in braille.
Ray J was also name-dropped in the monologue for sending a “pending” donation of $50,000, which Druski and the choir later joked about for “insufficient funds.”
Druski’s original skit drew mixed reactions from the Christian community, including Pastor Michael Todd, who denied taking financial advantage of his church following and called the video an “attack on people's lives of distraction."
Druski’s skits have gotten more eye-opening in months since, like his critique of Black British actors that portray ADOS Black Americans and white conservatives.
