Ginuwine is officially off the dating market again.
TMZ reports that the 55-year-old singer, given name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, is now engaged to Miami realtor Jannette Escartin, 28. She told TMZ that Ginuwine proposed to her in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.
According to WBLS, the proposal consisted of a carefully planned setting that overlooked a body of water, with family and friends involved in keeping the event a secret from the public.
So far, a wedding date hasn’t been announced.
Escartin revealed that she met Ginuwine in South Florida a few years ago. The world wasn’t aware how serious they were until she posted a picture with Ginuwine last winter with the caption, “My favorite gift this year is right beside me ❤️🎄Merry Christmas.”
Underneath another post, Ginuwine commented, “Mine.”
Ginuwine had kept his love life out of the limelight for years. His last marriage was to rapper Solé, whom he married in 2003, separated from in 2014, and divorced in 2015.
Ginuwine broke through in the late 1990s with the multi-platinum hit "Pony.” He later joined Tyrese and Tank to form the R&B group TGT across a career now spanning more than 25 years.
