Brandy's victory lap is making its next stop in the place where it all began. Fresh off earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and celebrating the success of her bestselling memoir PHASES, the Grammy-winning singer and actress will return to her hometown of McComb, Mississippi, on July 6 for a community celebration recognizing her decades-long career.

According to local CBS affiliate WJTV, the event, organized by the McComb Main Street Association, will take place during a special edition of Live at Five in the city's downtown Arts and Entertainment District. Brandy will be recognized by both the City of McComb and the Mississippi Legislature, with the evening also featuring a live performance from Grammy-nominated blues artist Mr. Sipp. A public after-party is scheduled to follow nearby.

For local leaders, the celebration is about recognizing someone whose success has remained closely tied to her roots.

“Welcoming Brandy back home to McComb in this fashion, in the heart of the McComb Downtown Arts and Entertainment District, is exciting,” said Justin Lofton, vice president of the McComb Main Street Association.

Lofton also credited Brandy's family's Norwood Foundation with helping shape his development and thanked the organizations that helped make the event possible.

Brandon Andrews, executive director of the McComb Main Street Association, said the timing felt especially fitting.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Brandy back to McComb to celebrate her already legendary career,” Andrews said. “After recently receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this is the perfect opportunity for her hometown to honor one of its own.”

The hometown recognition comes during one of the busiest stretches of Brandy's career in years. In March, she became the 2,839th recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where she reflected on fulfilling a childhood dream.

“Back then, I was just a little girl with a big dream,” Brandy said during the ceremony. “Seeing the stars on the Walk of Fame lit something in me... I said, ‘I'm going to sing my way onto one of these stars.’ And I did.”

That momentum has continued with the release of PHASES, which quickly climbed to No. 1 on the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list. In the memoir, Brandy revisits pivotal moments from her life and career, addressing long-discussed chapters of her personal story in her own words.

She'll also remain in the spotlight this summer as part of the 2026 Essence Fest lineup in New Orleans, joining fellow R&B stars Monica, Patti LaBelle, and Kehlani for the festival's concert series.
