More Noteworthy Cars You Should See at the L.A. Auto Show

One of the best surprises of the whole show, the NISMO Sentra kind of has the look of a mini Lexus with the body kit Nissan threw on this thing. Normally, when you hear a car is tuned, especially a smaller one like this, you'd expect maybe 20,30, maybe 50 more horsepower. Nissan was like, "fuck that, we'll give you 100 more." That was enough to catch the eye of Usain Bolt, who was there taking tabs on the NISMO GT-R that Nissan's probably giving him.

As everybody, including yours truly, was fussing like little school girls over the Vision Gran Turismo Concept, the boss stood strong with its stately, powerful package. Trust us, you'd have way more fun driving the S65 AMG than you will pretend driving the Vision in GT6.

You can dream about Tesla trucks all you want, but the fact of the matter is that there's already an extended-range pickup out there right now. It's called the VTrux, it's a product of Bob Lutz (of course), and its generator-assisted V6 can run 40 miles on pure electricity and up to 400 combined.

Infiniti didn't have any humongous first-time debuts in L.A., but the Q30 popped up in North America for the first time, lookin' all curvy and playful. We have a feeling its attractive appearance will win over quite a few buyers.

The Toyota hybrid Le Mans endurance racer won three of the six races it entered in 2012.

The second thumbnail is the full image of the car, but we think the engine is a pure work of art and is the main thing worth showing. We know that this is stripped down to the bare mininum, as far as what goes into a real production car, but the fact that this has two turbos and still has the engine room of a '60s muscle car makes us really sad that Toyota's all like, "there's no space for turbos" for the production GT 86/FR-S

The news that Cadillac might not actually make this car makes it all the more important to make sure you see it at its first city auto show.

While you're over at the Jag station looking at the mulitple colors of the new F-Type R (swoon), you might as well see the SUV, too. It's not in such a bright and bold color as the debut blue, this time playing second fiddle in a "liquid aluminum."

BMW kind of got overshadowed by the insane lineup that Mercedes-Benz put out (dat Gran Turismo car ...), but the new 4-Series convertible quietly debuted in its own little corner.

Just do yourself a favor, sit inside this car, inhale the fresh air and snap yourself into remembering that you're in a Kia. You'll be surprised, trust us. You'd think by now we wouldn't have to keep saying this.

Dodge and SRT put these matching Challengers to show off the new Shaker hood that was just brought back to life. The only problem: Everybody just wants the '70, not the 2014.

Our heart was already melting over the other star Jag at the show, the F-Type R Coupe, but an entirely different type of envy comes from seeing a Steve McQueen classic in person. Check it out at the Peterson Museum booth in between halls.

That's Nicki Minaj's pink Lambo in the middle. And a Ferrari F12, and a McLaren, and another Lambo Aventador, and a Rolls-Royce ... you get the point. Look for it next to the Saleens in a smaller room in between halls.

Chevy's entire collection of Camaros and Corvettes that it has on display just makes you feel like a kid again. Lots of primary colors, lot's of scoops and vents, and a shitload of power.

This is the GTI that everybody wants. VW knows everybody wants it, but they will probably never actually make a production version close its 503hp-level performance. Sad face.

Hydrogen is a super weird way to fuel a car, so the vehicle it's fueling obviously has to look super weird, too, right? We see a little bit of Insight in there, a little bit of Citroen GT with that silly saucer-like rear wing-type thing, and a whole lot of never-will-make-it-into-production. It's said to get about 300 miles on it's fuel cell stack.
