Ric Flair shared an update after a frightening fall outside a Tampa restaurant left him hospitalized with injuries to his head and eye.
The 77-year-old wrestling legend took to social media Saturday (Oct. 24) to reassure fans that he's recovering at home following Friday's incident. Flair shared a photo of himself sitting in a chair with a circular bandage covering his right eye.
"Thank you all for the messages and prayers! I will get back to you all individually as I get stronger," Flair wrote. "Thank you to Tampa General Hospital staff and doctors that put up with me until 4:30 a.m. I appreciate you all and thank you for everything you did. I am focused on my healing and recovery right now, and I will be okay."
According to TMZ, Flair was at Wagamama in Tampa on Friday morning when he got up from the bar, leaving his phone and drink behind, and walked across the street.
The WWE Hall of Famer reportedly fell shortly afterward, suffering cuts to his head and the area surrounding his eye. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Flair to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
His daughter, WWE star Charlotte Flair, provided an update shortly after the fall, letting fans know her father was stable while sharing a joke he made to his doctor.
"Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head… (ps: he's going to be ok)," she wrote on X, referencing her father's history with the late Ultimate Warrior.
Flair's son-in-law, wrestling podcaster Conrad Thompson, later confirmed that the Nature Boy had returned home.
The incident occurred just hours after Flair revealed that he was dealing with a blood clot in his leg, forcing him to cancel a scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle.
"Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. We have seen this recently with Jalen Hurts and the complications involving blood clots in his lungs," Flair wrote in his earlier announcement. "It is a reminder that this is not something to take lightly, and I must follow medical advice."
Flair explained that doctors had restricted his travel to trips lasting no more than three to four hours. He also revealed plans to undergo a procedure to address the affected vein.
