Not long after Yaxel Lendeborg made headlines for his criticism of Luka Dončić, the Golden State Warriors rookie’s girlfriend has indicated that she anticipates he’ll have a bright future with the team.
In a post on Instagram, Lendeborg’s longtime girlfriend, Tacarra Shyann, shared multiple pictures of her at a recent Golden State Warriors game in Warriors gear.
“First of many,” she captioned the post, indicating that she’s gonna be supporting her boyfriend for a long time and anticipates that he’s going to be a key player for the Warriors going forward.
The 24-year-old rookie, seen in the video above making his presence known during a recent game against the Denver Nuggets, made his professional debut earlier this month. He was selected with the 11th overall pick by the Warriors in the 2026 NBA Draft, when his fellow Michigan Wolverines Aday Mara and Morez Johnson Jr. were also drafted. Through his first four career games, he’s scored 87 points, which is the highest by a Warriors rookie since Wilt Chamberlain made his debut with the team in 1959.
He’s already proved himself to have a promising future in the NBA, but he’s also attracted attention for his trash-talking after calling out Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I had a lot of respect for him [because] I didn’t really watch the NBA much,” he told reporters following the Warriors game against the Lakers last week. “I just watched highlights and seen him kill people. But being in it firsthand, and seeing all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect.”
