Over the weekend, news surfaced that seemed to point to an early June release date for the next adidas Yeezy Boosts, but it might not be quite that cut and dried yet.
The news in question came from an email by Yeezy brand president Pete Fox that was obtained by Hypebeast and also said that Yeezy Season 2's clothing wouldn't be releasing this summer. On the footwear front, the email said that "the highly anticipated Yeezy footwear collection from Kanye West's own signature line will be released globally on on June 6, 2016."
While many sites were quick to publish this latest drop date, Highsnobiety noticed something even more revealing; the quote explicitly calls out the "Yeezy footwear collection" from "Kanye West's own signature line," making no mention of adidas or the Yeezy Boost sneakers. Last fall, it was reported that Season 2 would be produced and released with no adidas involvement outside of sneakers.
With this in mind, it sounds like the next Yeezy release will actually be one of the Italian-made boots we've seen previously. While this doesn't completely rule out a Yeezy Boost sneaker release on the same date, it appears that it's not as locked in as some outlets may lead you to believe.
