A Complete Guide to This Weekend's Sneakers Releases

Following up a slower week than usual to start 2019, the second week of the new year promises a solid bunch of releases worth paying attention to.

The drops kick off on Thursday with the arrival of the Nike Air Max 270 ISPA, two gold colorways of the Air VaporMax 2019, the A-Cold-Wall* x Nike Air Force 1 pack, stateside release of the Cav Empt x Nike Air Max 95s, and the debut color scheme for the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2. Friday's sole release is the first colorway of many for the under the radar '90s runner, the Nike Air Max2 Light, that is slated for 2019.

Releases wrap up on Saturday with the Adidas Nite Jogger, "Light Bone" Nike Air Fear of God 1, "Hot Punch" Air Jordan IV, and "Flint" Air Jordan VI all arriving at select retailers.

What You Need to Know: Nike is introducing a brand new silhouette under its ISPA (Improvise/Scavenge/Protect/Adapt) umbrella this week. The Air Max 270 ISPA is a lifestyle follow-up to the React LW WR Mid. It features a similar upper design with the biggest difference being a thick netting covering the entire upper. The React midsole on the first pair has also been replaced by a chunky Air Max 270 unit. A pull cord system on the heel gives this silhouette a technical vibe. The Air Max 270 ISPA will debut in three colorways.

What You Need to Know: The updated Nike Air VaporMax 2019 arrives in black and white colorways with gold detailing this Thursday. The upper is now constructed of translucent Nexkin fabric instead of the Flyknit used on past iterations. An inner cage and TPU heel clip have also been added for extra support. Other changes include Swooshes added to each side panel, new tongue branding, and the addition of a pull tab on the heel as well. The full-length VaporMax midsole remains the same.

What You Need to Know: After initially being scheduled to release before the end of 2018, the A-Cold-Wall* x Nike Air Force 1 Low pack will finally drop on SNKRS this week. White and black-based colorways of the Air Force 1 Low sport seamless leather uppers, suede panels on the heel and eyelets, and A-Cold-Wall* branding on the tongue and lateral toe. Additional details include a perforated Swoosh on each side panel and modified lacing system. Both pairs are constructed with Nike's Flyleather—a more sustainable substitute to traditional leather made with 50-percent recycled natural leather fiber.

What You Need to Know: Cav Empt's Air Max 95 collaboration is releasing stateside following a Japan-only release last weekend. The Japanese streetwear label added its own unique vibe to the classic '90s runner by covering it in a digital camouflage pattern. Cav Empt logos also appear on each tongue. Navy blue/tan and white/black pairs will both be up for grabs.

What You Need to Know: Russell Westbrook's second on-court signature model with Jordan Brand, the Why Not Zer0.2, is dropping in its debut colorway. The colorful "Future History" offering features hits inspired by the team colors Westbrook has worn over the course of his playing career. Other notable details include a size tag on the outsole and a branding tag on the medial side.

What You Need to Know: Nike is bringing back one of its lesser-appreciated Air Max models from the '90s in 2019, the Air Max2 Light. The first colorway of the 1994 runner hitting shelves will feature a yellow mesh upper, white leather overlays, a royal blue tongue, and crimson red Swoosh.

What You Need to Know: Adidas is starting off the year strong with the introduction of a brand new Originals silhouette, the Nite Jogger. The pair is inspired by the 1976 Three Stripes model of the same name. The inaugural colorway of this retro runner style sports a black mesh upper, black suede overlays, bright orange hits for contrast, and reflective detailing. It sits atop a blacked out Boost midsole and translucent outsole. Exposed padding on the tongue gives the Nite Jogger even more of a retro feel.

What You Need to Know: The second colorway of Jerry Lorenzo's Nike Air Fear of God 1 basketball sneaker is hitting select retailers this weekend. The original design returns with a more premium Light Bone tumbled leather upper. The thick rope laces, TPU cage, heel zipper, and double-stacked Zoom Air unit are also all present once again on the lifestyle friendly high-top.

What You Need to Know: Jordan Brand is dropping an insanely loud pair of Air Jordan IVs for the ladies. The "Hot Punch" colorway covers the entire upper in a bright Hot Punch patent leather. Black and yellow speckling covers the midsole and eyelets. Black Jumpman logos are stamped on the tongue and heel to complete the vibrant design.

What You Need to Know: The "Flint" colorway arrives on the Air Jordan VI this weekend. This pair sports a white leather and grey suede upper. Concord purple and infrared hits give a pop of color to the Jumpman logos, lace lock, and heel tab. The bright tones are also featured on a branding tag seen on the lateral side panel—a detail not commonly seen on MJ's sixth signature model.
