The Jackpuss era is now in full swing.
Monday (Oct. 19), the new crew, featuring Jackass alum Rachel Wolfson, shared their inaugural project, which takes aim at the Lone Star State’s dangerously dumb stance on abortion rights. For those somehow unaware, abortions are effectively banned outright in Texas, with extremely limited exceptions.
Instead of taking the form of a stunt in the tradition of Jackass, the new video is more akin to a skit. In it, a woman attempts to discuss a potential abortion with a doctor, noting that she has been assaulted.
“It doesn’t matter if anything unthinkable or horrific caused this pregnancy, but there is one thing we can try,” the doctor responds, at which point the woman is seen being punched in the stomach, leading to a decidedly bloody outcome.
Wolfson is joined in the Jackpuss collective by Natalie Palamides, who previously appeared in Jackass Forever and Jackass 4.5. Additional Jackpuss enlistees include Kelly McCaughan, Cait Darling, Maddi Mays, and more.
“This is a fictional piece of masterful cinematic art and film and was performed by professional actresses with the use of SFX makeup and fake blood and fake vomit,” reads a disclaimer shared to the crew’s official Instagram on Monday. “It is fake. Nobody was harmed in the making of this film. Do not attempt this at home.”
An additional disclaimer appears in the video itself, and playfully underscores that this is indeed a wholly post-Jackass endeavor. It reads, “Jackpuss is an independent parody project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jackass, MTV, Paramount, or any of their associated creators or properties. In fact, quite the opposite. We’ve received multiple cease-and-desist letters. Please don’t sue us.”
Wolfson and company first started teasing Jackpuss this summer in the wake of Jackass: Best and Last’s theatrical release. Best and Last, according to Jackass co-founder and star Johnny Knoxville, will be the last main installment in the film franchise.
