Production on Michael B. Jordan's upcoming film Miami Vice '85 was reportedly interrupted after a man allegedly pulled out a butcher knife and threatened a crew member on the movie's Brooklyn set.

According to TMZ, the incident occurred Friday (Oct. 23) around 11 p.m. when 23-year-old Alex Perez allegedly ran onto the set and began causing a disturbance that frightened several crew members.

The situation escalated when Perez allegedly brandished a large butcher knife and threatened a production staffer, prompting someone on set to contact the NYPD.

Officers arrived and took Perez into custody at approximately 11:17 p.m.

Footage obtained by TMZ reportedly shows Perez being escorted away from the production area by a staff member before pulling a knife from his sweatshirt pocket. Authorities also allege that Perez directed a racial slur toward the same staffer while being handcuffed.

Perez was charged with second-degree menacing with a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to police, the 23-year-old has been arrested five times previously, including in connection with alleged gang activity, assault involving a firearm, and burglary.

The incident forced production to shut down filming for the remainder of the night. It remains unclear whether Jordan or any of the film's other stars were present when the confrontation occurred.

Miami Vice '85 is a forthcoming film adaptation of the popular NBC crime drama that originally aired from 1984 to 1989.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the upcoming movie stars Jordan as Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs alongside Austin Butler as his partner, Sonny Crockett.

The cast also includes John Leguizamo, who portrays the film's antagonist Calderone, as well as Walton Goggins, André Holland, Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone and Danny Ramirez.

Filming began earlier this month in Wayne, New Jersey, where Jordan and Butler were spotted working on a set designed to resemble a shopping center from the 1980s. The production later moved to New York City, with additional filming expected to take place in Miami.
