While the bulk of the promo leading into Mahershala Ali’s latest has been about how Marvel couldn’t figure out a Blade movie, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, which is written and directed by Bassam Tariq (who was one of the many who sat in the Blade director’s chair), is deeper than that. It’s about protecting family; it’s about questioning your faith, and it’s about doing what you have to do when no one else can. Sure, they get to the business, but if you’re looking for the Blade film Marvel couldn’t produce, curb that thought.
Unabomber
Premiere Date: September 25 (Netflix)
The story of Ted Kaczynski, aka the man behind the Unabomber attacks that spanned 1978 through 1995, is coming to Netflix. It stars Jacob Tremblay, who real ones may have initially seen in 2015’s Room; Tremblay is now 19 and tackling a difficult role. If anything, learn a little about a horrific piece of American history through this film, which also stars Russell Crowe, Shailene Woodley, and more.
