Kim Kardashian allegedly had a gun drawn on her by a police officer while on a October 2018 visit to Uganda with her then-husband, Kanye West.
The claim appears in new biography Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, written by journalist Jonathan Van Meter.
Farnaz Farjam, the executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, told Van Meter that the former couple had reached a “point of no return” during their marriage, which legally dissolved in 2022. The former spouses, who married in 2014, share four children, North West, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
At the time of the alleged incident, West became “paranoid and agitated” while filming at a remote location in the African country. At the time, West would have been recording his unreleased album, Yandhi.
"He basically got the local police to believe that there were people trying to drug him, and so they came and they had guns out," Farjam said, per Page Six. "He had them raid everybody's rooms."
Farjam recalled the alleged situation as "intense" and said drastic measures were taken to clear the show’s crew out of the area. "I ended up having to get a private jet and get my crew out of there," she said.
By the time police officials reached the SKIMS founder, Farjam said that “one of the policemen had a gun to Kim’s head.”
The television producer said she ultimately reached a point of forgiveness for West, citing his struggles with bipolar disorder. The 24-time Grammy winner detailed how the mental health condition manifested into antisemitic outbursts in a The Wall Street Journal full-page letter in January.
The Uganda allegation marks a second account of Kardashian being held at gunpoint, just two years after five men ambushed her during a robbery in a Paris residency during Fashion Week in October 2016. The entrepreneur testified at the trial in 2025, where eight defendants were convicted.
