Ernesto Chavana has apologized to a model, who is currently on the mend after he accidentally kicked a drone at her face during a live taping.

The 58-year-old Mexican television host was taping a live segment of the Es Show on Monday (October 26), when he pelted a drone that was flying just a foot off the soundstage floor. The device ricocheted off the face of Colombian model Isabella Rojas, who covered her bloodied face and appeared to be in pain.

Rojas was escorted off the set by castmates before paramedics treated her off-camera. She came back on air moments later, flashed a bloody smile and revealed that her injuries were minor.

Chavana would ultimately apologize to viewers, sharing that he felt "responsible" for the accident. "I feel very ashamed and embarrassed for what I have just done. I kicked this thing they put in front of me... I don't know, maybe it was my new shoes," he said, per Dextero.

The following day, Chavana would insist that he wasn’t "hiding" and was "aware" of his mistake. "Here I am to face up to it... I offered apologies to Isabella on air and I took full responsibility for the event," he said, as translated from Spanish to English.
