As expected, Disney's Frozen 2 is having a strong second week.

According to Forbes, the animated sequel earned an additional $34 million on Black Friday, bringing its total domestic gross to $236 million. The outlet reports the film has also raked in an estimated $651 million at the international box office, making it the highest-grossing theatrical sequel for Walt Disney Animation, surpassing Ralph Breaks the Internet with $529 million in 2018. Forbes points out that the movie's record-breaking figures is largely due to the fact that Walt Disney Animation rarely does theatrical sequels, relying mostly on direct-to-DVD installments.

Variety reports that the film is also expected to break the Thanksgiving holiday (Wednesday through Sunday) record with $128 million. Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the official record-holder at this time, earning about $110 million in 2013.

Frozen 2, which hit U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, raked in an estimated $127 million in its opening weekend; that's about 75 percent more than what the original earned in its opening weekend in 2013.

Forbes also projects Frozen 2 will end the weekend with approximately $292 million domestic and about $800 million worldwide, giving it the "15th-biggest, sans inflation, 10-day total ever," surpassing Finding Dory ($286 million), but below Beauty and the Beast ($319 million).

Frozen 2 was directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck; its cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, Evan Rachel Wood, and Sterling K. Brown.
