It seems Adam Sandler finally got his milkshake.
Earlier this week, the 54-year-old comedian returned to an IHOP in Manhasset, New York, where a hostess had famously turned him away last month. The employee eventually shared security footage of the interaction, showing a masked Sandler and his daughter at the hostess stand before exiting moments later. The hostess said she had informed the man that there would be a 30-minute wait, as he had come during the rush; however, she claims she was unaware the man behind the mask was one of the most famous film personalities in the world.
“It wasn’t until a customer walked in about 15 minutes later saying, ‘Adam Sandler was outside,’ when I realized I spoke to Adam Sandler!” 17-year-old hostess Dayanna Rodas told the New York Post.
Sandler was very gracious about the situation and suggested there were no hard feelings. He responded to the viral video in a tweet earlier this month, providing a playful explanation about his quick exit.
The post ultimately inspired IHOP to declare May 10 “Milkshake Monday,” with the chain offering all-you-can-drink milkshakes at its Long Island locations. IHOP also pledged to donate $1 for every shake sold (up to $50,000) to Comedy Gives Back, a Sandler-supported organization that provides comedians assistance during the pandemic.
Rodas returned to TikTok earlier this week with photo montage of Milkshake Monday. The post showed pictures of her and co-workers putting the event together, as well as a few shots of participating customers, including Sandler.
“Couldn’t have been more excited!” she captioned the post, which showed her and the Uncut Gems star posing next to a table of shakes. “Thank you Adam Sandler!”
Sandler also shared his own photo from the event, which he attended alongside his dog.
