Quincy Jones’ famed Bel Air estate is heading back on the market again — and the asking price just took another major cut. The sprawling property once owned by the late music icon has been re-listed for $34.85 million, down from the nearly $40 million price tag attached to the home earlier this year and nearly $25 million below its original May 2025 listing price of $59.995 million.
Per the new listing, the 2.3-acre estate sits behind double gates at the end of a private cul-de-sac in East Gate Bel Air and offers 270-degree views stretching from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The nearly 25,000-square-foot home features five bedrooms, a screening room, a wine cellar and tasting room, an indoor garden, a game lounge, an executive office, a home gym, an infinity-edge pool, and a full-size lighted tennis court.
Custom-built in the early 2000s, the residence reflected Quincy Jones’ vision of creating a private retreat inspired by South Africa’s Palace of the Lost City. Jones teamed with architect Gerald “Jerry” Allison — a fellow Seattle high school alumnus — to bring the concept to life.
“My father loved his home so much,” daughter Rashida Jones said when the property first hit the market in 2025, per TMZ. “He created it from the ground up with his boundless imagination.”
Tom Fo, a senior design adviser who worked on the project alongside Allison, previously explained that Jones wanted clear boundaries between his professional and personal worlds. “In his previous house, he had file papers in the kitchen,” Fo recalled. “His awards were all over the house. So, we talked about trying to separate his personal life and his work.”
Former listing agent Andrew Buss also noted that much of the estate’s value comes from its unusual footprint. “It’s incredibly rare to have this amount of flat land with those types of views,” he said.
The renewed listing comes as Jones’ family continues to manage the legendary producer’s affairs following his death from pancreatic cancer in November 2024 at age 91. Earlier this year, court filings revealed that his son, producer and filmmaker Quincy Jones III, would serve as executor of the estate after both Richard Jones and Rashida Jones declined the role.
