Joseline Hernandez has spent years insisting that The Real Housewives of Miami needs the Puerto Rican Princess. Now, Andy Cohen appears ready to let her prove it. Hernandez said reality-TV producer Carlos King moved her to tears after he pushed Cohen to consider her for the series—and Cohen promised she would be the first person called for a casting tape if Bravo revives the show.
Hernandez posted the exchange on Instagram and thanked King for repeatedly championing her without expecting anything in return.
“To say I had tears in my eyes when I watched the interview with you and @bravoandy, it’s not enough,” she wrote.
With only weeks remaining before she gives birth, Hernandez said the surprise nearly sent her over the edge. “I had to clinch these pearls for this baby not to surprise me today,” she joked. “My heart dropped.”
King pitched the idea to Cohen during a discussion of the uncertain future of The Real Housewives of Miami on his podcast, Reality with the King, where Cohen was a guest.
Both men praised the series, but Cohen acknowledged that enthusiasm alone doesn’t guarantee another season. When he asked why a show sometimes doesn’t get picked up, King cut to the point: “Honey, it’s all about the numbers.”
Cohen immediately agreed.
Still, neither sounded ready to write Miami off. Cohen called himself the show’s “number one Miami fan” and said that, if the decision were solely his, production would already be underway.
King then presented Hernandez as the kind of casting swing that could shake up the franchise. He pointed to K. Michelle’s move from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, then reminded Cohen that another breakout star from the VH1 franchise lives in Miami.
“There’s another woman from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta named Joseline Hernandez,” King said.
He added that Hernandez has been extremely public about wanting a mojito—and has even blamed her absence for the show’s current limbo. “She feels like, ‘Tap me in, coach,’” King told Cohen.
Cohen stopped short of offering Hernandez a place in the cast, but he gave her campaign its biggest boost yet. “If we get a green light, she’s gonna be the first person we call to put on a casting tape,” he said. King needed no further convincing. “I think she’ll be great,” he replied.
Hernandez would arrive at Bravo with far more than her original Love & Hip Hop résumé. She has since turned Joseline’s Cabaret into her own reality franchise, launched the family series The Grandma Is the Baby, and kept her personal life firmly in the conversation.
