Flyysoulja of Island Boys Reportedly Hospitalized for Days After Overdosing on Cocaine, Other Drugs

According to a report, he was released from a hospital in Florida on Monday.

Island Boys member Flyysoulja was reportedly released from a Miami-area hospital on Monday (Nov. 2) after spending several days at the facility due to an apparent overdose.

First to share the news was TMZ, with their reporting claiming that Flyysoulja, 25, overdosed on cocaine and other drugs last Thursday (Oct. 29) while celebrating his recent purchase of a new condo and car. Notably, in an Instagram post shared in September, Flyysoulja appeared to refer to himself as the “biggest junkie.”

The report goes on to state that Flyysoulja, real name Alex Venegas, was additionally hit with the Baker Act. Also known as the Florida Mental Health Act, the state law allows for a person to be involuntarily subjected to a mental health examination if, for example, it is determined that “based on recent behavior, that without treatment, the individual will pose a serious threat to themselves or others.”

As of this writing, Flyysoulja does not appear to have directly referenced the reported overdose on social media. At the top of the year, he told TMZ he was returning to rehab.

“I’m going to detox right now to get the help to become a better version of myself and to become a better dad,” he said in January. “I’m gonna come out stronger. … I can’t wait. I’ve been here before, but this time I’m gonna take it a lot more [seriously].”

The Island Boys, consisting of twin brothers Alex and Franky Venegas (Kodiyakredd), became the subject of social media virality roughly half a decade ago. In the years since, the brothers have faced a series of legal issues.
