Funk Flex says he’s “got a story to tell” amid disputed claims of him being punched during an alleged incident at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (Oct. 20).
First, in an all-caps Instagram post that included a screenshot of an apparent email from a TMZ rep, the longtime Hot 97 personality disputed that he was “punched in the face” at the venue amid Knicks’ season-opening festivities on Tuesday.
“HAHAHAHAHA! PLEASE! YOU WISH I GOT PUNCHED IN THE FACE!” Flex captained the post. “I GUESS I GOT THESE LABEL GUYS KINDA ANGRY! THEY WANNA SUE WHEN THEY DON’T GET THEY WAY! ‘PLEASE PUNCH SO I CAN SUE YOU’ SAYS SHADOW! HE WAS UPSET TOO!”
When sharing footage showing the aftermath of the alleged incident, jeweler Alex Todd, who was also at Tuesday night’s game, remarked that his “favorite part of the Knicks game was watching Funk Flex get punched in the mouth.”
Flex also shared footage, though it was hard to make out what, exactly, transpired. The “Shadow” in question, notably, is music executive Shadow Stokes, whom Flex has accused of attempting to “get a money grab off me” and throwing a drink.
“SHADOW STOKES COULD NEVER PUNCH ME!” Flex added in yet another IG post. “HE’S AN AMBULANCE CHASER! … THIS MUSIC INDUSTRY COUPLE HAS AN ‘ACTIVE CASE’ AGAINST ME AND MY COMPANY! TRYING HARD TO BAIT ME INTO A PAYOUT! Y’ALL AIN’T SMARTER THAN ME! APPROACH WHEN THAT CASE DON’T EXIST!”
Multiple times, Flex also teased that he might have even more to say about the alleged incident on Hot 97 this Thursday (Oct. 22).
