Usher is teasing his own take on Drake’s Habibti highlight “I’m Spent,” though it’s not currently clear whether an official release of the remix is imminent.
On his Instagram this week, the eight-time Grammy winner went live, giving fans a preview of the remix. Some fans have since started referring to the Usher-ified version of Drake’s Loe Shimmy collaboration as “U Spent.”
“Somebody needs to call Loe Shimmy and Drake!” Usher said during the tease before singing along to the track.
To reiterate, it’s not known whether an official release for the remix is slated, though it’s not inconceivable that Drake could, in theory, be gearing up for another push behind Habibti. One of three new albums he initially rolled out back in May, Habibti later got a reissue in tandem with Drake’s FOMO short film drop, with the Ella Langley-interpolating “Solar Eclipse” among the newly added tracks.
Looking ahead, Drake is confirmed to have a new tour on the horizon for 2027. He is not, however, expected to be among this year’s Grammy nominees, which are set to be unveiled in a couple weeks. Drake has long had a fairly contentious relationship with the Recording Academy, despite having five career wins to his name.
Below, revisit Drake’s elaborately costumed video for the original version of “I’m Spent,” one of several new visual accompaniments tucked into his FOMO short. And for look back at what all he managed to fit into the larger film, see here.
