Billie Eilish Enlisted for My Chemical Romance Short Film 'Prelude to The End'

Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, Hideo Kojima, and more have all been enlisted to re-welcome us to The Black Parade.

Thursday (Oct. 29), My Chemical Romance, fresh off marking the 20th anniversary of their classic album with the release of a bonus tracks-adorned deluxe edition, shared a new animated short film, Prelude to The End, directed by (and featuring the voice talent of) Lauren Tsai.

Tsai voices Astrid, a name that should be familiar for The Dying World fans, while Eilish brings to life a friend of the character. As for Bridgers, recently seen in A24’s Primetime alongside Robert Pattinson, she voices Astrid’s sister.

“It was an absolute dream to work on this project for The Black Parade and The Dying World,” Tsai said of the newly unveiled short in a statement shared with Complex. “I deeply respect MCR and Gerard [Way]’s creative legacy. It has been an honor for him to find inspiration in a world that I've created, in the same way I have always admired the worlds that he has built throughout his career.”
