EJAE, one of the vocalists and main songwriters behind the hit Netflix animated musical film KPop Demon Hunters, tied the knot.
According to reports, on Oct. 17, the South Korean artist wed her longtime partner, Samuel Kim, at venue Stage 28, which was formerly the location of her grandparents’ home.
“I spent much of my childhood exploring the garden and walking with my grandfather in the hills behind the house,” Ejae told Vogue.
EJAE, 34, real name Kim Eun-jae, wore a custom Danielle Frankel tulle gown with her grandmother's heirloom jewelry for the ceremony, before changing into a custom Zac Posen-designed chiffon gown for the reception. Kim, who Ejae met during a recording session set up by a mutual friend in 2017, wore a bespoke classic tuxedo from Bhambi's Custom Tailors.
Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, the singing voices of HUNTR/X members Zoey and Mira in KPop Demon Hunters, were among the guests.
The couple’s big weekend began with a Paebaek, the traditional Korean family ceremony, followed by welcome party at Congdu50 in Seoul.
Kim proposed on June 1, 2025, in a Brooklyn park, where friends staged a surprise picnic decorated with photos of the couple and Ejae's late dog, Honey.
With Stage 28 being the site of Ejae’s maternal grandparents' former home, the location was also where her brother had previously gotten married. After a busy press tour and performances for KPop Demon Hunters after the movie took off last year, Ejae and Kim originally planned to hold a November 2026 wedding in California, before changing the date and location.
“It was hectic and a little stressful, but it was real teamwork, and everything has fallen into place perfectly,” Ejae said.
A sequel for KPop Demon Hunters is slated for 2029, while a concert tour dedicated to the movie is also in the works.
