50 Cent once had a near-death experience while riding as a passenger, with DMX in the driver’s seat.

The Street Fighter star reflected on the encounter last week’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, detailing a recording session with the late Yonkers rapper, born Earl Simmons. While he didn’t specify a time period, the artists collaborated on the 2003 song “Shot Down,” which featured Styles P.

"And we found the track and he was like, ‘Yo, come on, let's just go get our head right.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, let's just go,’” 50 said around the 12-minute mark of the video below.

The East Coast rappers left their entourages in the studio and went to DMX's car, where Fifty mistakenly thought they would be listening to beats while stationary.

"And he started driving. He drove me down a one-way. Downtown Manhattan, he went down a one-way, the wrong way," he continued. "I said, ‘We gonna die in this mother."

"You said, ‘Get my head right.’ We was in the car, he was wild. He would just do the craziest stuff,’ Fif continued.

After joking that DMX was “crazy,” Fif returned to the studio with a a set of boundaries for his collaborator.

"When we got back there, I was like, ‘Yo, I'm not doing nothing but rap, all right? No one ask me for nothing, I don't want nothing. Let's just rap.’"

The entertainment mogul is executive producing Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX, a Jadakiss-hosted audio series on DMX's early years in Yonkers from iHeartPodcasts, Narratively, and G-Unit Audio that was announced in January.
