O’Shea Jackson Jr. wants all women named Janice to be careful if they want to go to Drake’s newest party.
On Thursday (June 25), Drake announced that he’s hosting a party only open to women named Janice in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and Houston on Sunday (June 28) to apologize for his hit single “Janice STFU.”
“To any chick named Janice who’s on the run for anything… this is a trap,” Jackson joked in a quote-post on X. “They did the same thing to Washington Redskins fans in 1985 lmfaooo look it up.”
What Jackson is referencing here is Operation Flagship, a sting operation that the U.S. Marshals Service and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department launched in December 1985. The plan saw authorities sending invites for free Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) tickets, but it was really a trap to arrest wanted fugitives. In total, 101 fugitives were arrested as part of the operation, which included personnel posing as everything from maintenance staff to cheerleaders.
Now, would Drake actually go through this effort to see multiple wanted fugitives named Janice put behind bars? Probably not, but it’s certainly a funny idea.
O’Shea Jackson Jr. previously admitted that he was a fan of Drake’s breakout Iceman hit. “The hook for Janice STFU be in my head,” the actor wrote in a post shared on social media. “There. I said it.” The song ultimately went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Drake the male solo artist with most No. 1 hits on the Hot 100, breaking his tie with Michael Jackson.
