Dame Dash Challenges Jay-Z to Release a Diss Record: 'You Should Have Never Said My Name'

Jay appeared to take aim at his former business partner when he performed a freestyle at the Roots Picnic earlier this year.

Dame Dash wants Jay-Z to come at him with a bigger diss than his Roots Picnic freestyle.

After going on a rant in which he name-dropped a bunch of people peripherally involved with Hov’s recent freestyle—including Cam’ron, who he’s already dissed—Dame directly called out his former business partner and suggested he’s willing to drag this out as long as he needs to. “What are you going to do, Jay? I’m challenging you to every single thing, because you’ve been fucking with me for so long and you’ve been pretending that you’re that guy and you’re not,” he said during an interview with Cam Capone News,

“You should have never said my name,” said Dash, who has repeatedly mentioned Jay-Z in interviews for years despite the rapper mostly keeping his mouth shut in response. “We could play games. You can snap. I really want you to give me a real good diss record, if you still can. I want you to write it. I want you to perform it on your own, or you could have Bleek with you. He’s not your little man’s anymore, ‘cause he weighs too much. He’s your heavy little man. … I’m still in the same shape I was in when I was in high school, when I was fighting. I’m in fighting shape right now. Are you? You don’t look like it.”

Dame also used the interview as another opportunity to make fun of Jay-Z’s hair, something he called out in his initial response to the freestyle. “You got to keep that stupid ass afro,” he added.

In his freestyle, Jay-Z appeared to reference Dame Dash without naming him directly. “That chatty patty is down on his luck again,” Jay rapped, seemingly referring to Dash’s proclivity to talk about his disdain for Jay-Z on the regular. “N***as teeth is tumbling out their mouth, and somehow I’m the one who done it,” he rapped in another point of the freestyle, a reference to a viral picture that showed Dash smiling without multiple teeth in his mouth.

“It was whack. It was like a joke but it was a old joke. He used my lyrics,” Dash said in an interview with The Art of Dialogue earlier this month. “And I felt bad because I was like, it must be embarrassing for him to now have to be on that stage, not the same version of himself, and still have to work at that age ‘cause he has to.”

Dash recently also previewed a diss record that took aim at Jay-Z and Cam’ron, in which he suggested they both had “doo-doo” breath.
