AOA's Dohwa is opening the door to a reunion, floating a one-off anniversary show as the version of a comeback she would actually sign up for.
The K-pop singer, formerly known as Chanmi, made the comments on a recent episode of Chaoroom, the YouTube talk show hosted by former Fiestar member Cao Lu.
“I do think I want to do it again someday,” Dohwa said of an AOA reunion, near the 19-minute mark of the video linked below. “Someday, if all the members are in the right situation, and if I am in the right situation too, and if it fits my mood, I want to do it again someday, not necessarily for a long period, but just once.”
She continued, “I want to do something like a 15th or 20th anniversary celebration at least once. I'm just thinking about it to myself. But we really always support each other. We support each other as a group, and we support each other while living our individual lives faithfully.”
She also made clear the idea has not traveled to the other group members.
"We haven't really talked about this among ourselves. Seolhyun is doing so well as an actress, Jimin is still releasing solo albums, and Yuna got pregnant and gave birth. She's a mom now, and the baby must be one or two years old," Dohwa added. "As for Hyejeong, I gave her an invitation, saw her at the wedding, and haven't seen her since. It seems like she wants to keep her distance for a while."
AOA, an acronym for “Ace of Angels,” debuted under FNC in August 2012 as an eight-member group consisting of Choa, Jimin, Yuna, Youkyung, Hyejeong, Mina, Seolhyun, and Dohwa. The group went on to produce hits including "Miniskirt," "Heart Attack" and "Good Luck."
After several lineup changes, the group has remained inactive since 2020, and every remaining member has since left the label.
