Donald Trump turned heads during a campaign rally in Michigan after making an unexpected comment about Nicki Minaj's backside while addressing the crowd.
The moment occurred Sunday (Oct. 25) in Port Huron, Michigan, where Trump was joined by the Queens rapper, who traveled with him aboard Air Force One to show her support for Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections. While speaking to supporters, Trump revisited comments he previously made about Ohio Senate candidate Jon Husted's appearance.
"I looked at his [Husted's] ass. I've never done that with a man before. Off the record, women, yes. Men, no," Trump said.
He then shifted his attention to Minaj, who was sitting in the audience.
"By the way, I've looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before," Trump said before pointing toward the rapper. "Nicki Minaj! That's hard to miss! Stand up. That's hard to miss."
Minaj also took the stage during the rally, where she praised Trump and encouraged Michigan voters to support Republican candidates Mike Rogers and John James.
"I am so honored to be working with this president," Minaj told the crowd, applauding Trump's "resilience" and claiming he had "changed the energy of our country."
The rapper also addressed transgender issues involving children, expressing opposition to gender-transition procedures for minors.
"We want our children to grow up in a place we can be proud of," she said. "We don't want our children to be bombarded with sex changes, right?"
"We want people to leave the children alone! Leave them out of it!" she added.
Minaj concluded her appearance by promising to continue supporting Trump, even suggesting she would back him if he sought another term.
"So President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time, and I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again."
The appearance is the latest example of Minaj's increasingly public support for Trump.
Earlier this year, the rapper attended a White House-related event promoting Trump Accounts, a government-backed savings initiative for children, where she described herself as "probably the president's No. 1 fan."
She also addressed criticism surrounding her political views, insisting that the backlash has only strengthened her support.
"The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all," Minaj said at the January event. "It actually motivates me to support him more."
