Kendall Jenner is speaking out after two former models publicly criticized her own status as a "supermodel."

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Stephanie Seymour said that Jenner and her equally successful BFF Gigi Hadid should be called "bitches of the moment" instead of supermodels.

"They are completely different than we were," she told the magazine. "Supermodels are sort of the thing of the past. They deserve their own title. [Kendall and Gigi] are beautiful girls, and I support all of them, but they need their own title."

The comments came shortly after Rebecca Romjin took shots at the models while talking with Entertainment Tonight in April. Romjin said that Jenner and Hadid were not "true supermodels" and went on to criticize magazines like Vogue for putting "social media stars" on its covers.

Following Seymours comment, Jenner felt inclined to share her thoughts about the debate on her website.

"If you’re going to tell us not to be in 'your moment,’ then don’t be in mine!'" she wrote. "This moment is all about being supportive—NOT cyberbullying. But, if you choose to be a cyberbully, I’m going to stick up for myself."

"No one is trying to steal Stephanie Seymour’s thing, or trying to be her,” she continued. "I actually looked up to her. She has a daughter! I guarantee you that she didn’t imagine someone so publicly shaming her daughter when she made those comments about us being 'bitches of the moment.'"

Even though Seymour and Jenner are decades apart, they have hit similar notes on their path to success. Seymour was a Victoria's Secret Angel in the early '90s and covered various issues of Vogue, much like Jenner.

"Being a ’supermodel’ is a relative term," she explained. "If people want to call Gigi and I supermodels now, it doesn’t take anything away from supermodels of the past. Obviously, I have so much respect for those women, but right now, we’re the models of this time. Significant? Maybe. Hardworking? For sure."

Jenner and Hadid have been criticized because of their roles on reality shows, famous families, and social media fame. But, some legendary models, like Cindy Crawford, have defended their use of the platforms. "I'm so jealous, because I feel they have this direct way to communicate with their audience that my generation didn't have," Crawford told Cosmopolitan.

"There are other supermodels who give me tips and build up my confidence, sending me notes after a spread comes out, saying, ’You’re killing it,’ Jenner wrote. "That’s the classy way to behave and I fully intend on being a positive influence on anyone younger than me, my entire life."

Jenner is clearly taking the high road on this one.
