Last year, we saw plenty of guys experimenting with colored hair (and doing it well) so we included the look on our Best Trends of 2015 list—and it appears that the bold look isn’t going away anytime soon. The trend continued into 2016 when Justin Bieber kicked off the New Year with his purple ombré hair, and a number of dudes have continued to follow suit.

Next, it was Joe Jonas who dyed his hair blue, which he has recently re-dyed to a shade of bright red. Then Zayn Malik took to Twitter yesterday to show off his new hairdo—a vibrant pink color. Even rapper Yung Lean has sported neon green hair and black nail polish in a recent photo shoot.

As style continues to evolve toward an increasingly genderless look, it’s opened doors for guys to experiment with trends and looks that were once deemed “not for men.” Whether it’s dudes dyeing their hair bright colors or rappers wearing women’s clothing, these daring decisions have often led to standout style moments and praise from their peers.
