Gothamist reports that New York City police are searching for a pickpocketer who tried to go on a $28,000 shopping spree with stolen credit cards. The suspect stole a wallet from a bar patron's unattended jacket inside of a Midtown bar. He then took the stolen goods and attempted to run up ridiculous charges at Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. The incident took place back on the night of Nov. 4, almost three weeks ago.

The NYPD's official statement adds that "The wallet contained credit cards from Bank of America, American Express and Citibank as well as a driver license and a MTA/LIRR pass."

Since the suspect is still at large, anyone with information regarding this incident should call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. All tips are kept anonymous.
