In a new video by Buzzfeed, members of the Southern California Indian Center spoke candidly on the subject of the somehow-still-prevalent trend of wearing "Native American-inspired fashion" to music festivals. The members were shown pictures of musicians Jared Leto, Eliza Doolittle, and a couple of fans at various music festivals donning various "Native American-inspired" clothing items. The looks included a couple of poor dollar store attempts at a headdress, an over-generously long loin cloth, and an outfit that appropriated three different cultures.

The reactions were understandably and expectedly negative, and one could see the genuine confusion and discomfort in the faces of the Native Americans. Here's to another necessary reminder of why cultural appropriation is never a good idea​.
