After 14 years at Lanvin, creative director Alber Elbaz is reportedly leaving the company.

The eccentric Israli designer joined the world's oldest fashion house in 2001, and was responsible for launching its first menswear collection in 2006. Elbaz was known for bringing a quirkiness and wearability to the brand's elegant clothing.

According to WWD, Elbaz told his design team about his decision this morning, but no official announcement has been made. Disagreements with the company's owner and executive officer have been listed as a reason for his departure.

The news of Elbaz's exit comes less than a week after Raf Simons announced he was leaving Dior. Many are now speculating about the possibility that Elbaz could take his place.
