This weekend marks the second annual New York City Bodypainting Day, an event that will gather 75 artists to paint 100 fully nude male and female models of all sizes and backgrounds on the city streets. Bodypainting Day was started by artist Andy Golub as a way to celebrate free artistic expression. After being arrested for painting nude models in 2011, Golub went on to successfully eliminate the city's nighttime-only nude painting restrictions.

He teamed up with body painter Craig Tracy and Young Naturists America to launch the official Bodypainting Day in 2014. This year's theme is "What the World Needs Now...," which is meant to provoke artists to paint their world view.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 18 and will run from at 12-4 p.m. at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in New York City. It will be followed by a march to the United Nations and a double decker bus tour at 5 p.m.
