Tom Ford is working overtime.

In addition to planning his Fall/Winter 2015 show, which will occur in Los Angeles this Friday, the American designer is also in the early stages of casting his next film.

That’s right, Ford recently announced he is working on a follow-up to the Oscar-nominated film “A Single Man,” which marked his directorial debut. Though he’s keeping details to a minimum, he did reveal the untitled movie will be an adaptation of a lesser-known thriller novel, but he wouldn’t say which.

The script, which was completed by Ford in September, breaks the story up in two parts: the first will stay true to the book’s original content, while the second will be something completely new.

"A book is a book; a film is a film," Ford told WWD. "They are totally different things. Sometimes things are subtle in a book because there’s an inner monologue with the character, and turning it into a film, you don’t have that inner monologue—unless you do, which I don’t love.…You have to have something personal; you have to take what speaks to you about a book and amplify that. It’s impressionism, in a way."

WWD points out Ford has a narrow timeframe to shoot the new movie due to the busy fashion calendar. He actually only has from Sept. 15 through December to make the movie; but seeing as how “A Single Man” only took 21 days to shoot, that shouldn’t be a problem.

"I only need six weeks," he said.

Stay tuned as more information about the movie rolls in.
