Though it’s been 10 years since Telfar Clemens launched his eponymous clothing label, his unconventional interpretation of “normal” garments still manages to impress us.

This past Sunday at the Artists Space in Tribeca, the Queens-born designer presented his Fall/Winter 2015 collection, which has been touted as his most "mature and merchandisable" line to date. But despite the increased wearability factor, Telfar continues to deliver an original aesthetic anchored by minimalism and next-level detailing.

Dominated by a solid mix of streetwear and workwear references, the line is executed in a way that breaks gender norms but still provides palatable options for the everyday. Traditional pieces like bomber jackets, tees, knit sweaters, and denim trousers are revamped with tonal paneling, cutouts, built-in cuffs, and varying proportions. Avant garde items like super-cropped outerwear and one-sleeve turtlenecks are still present in this collection, but are balanced out by the range of straight-forward threads like raglan T-shirts, short-sleeve button-ups, and work jackets. In all, it's an eye-catching selection that utilizes the conventional in a subversive and unparalleled way.
