Most of the headlines revolving around Miley Cyrus in the past few months have, strangely enough, been about nipple pasties. However, at one point last year Cyrus was heavily into her artwork, presenting an exhibit entitled "Dirty Hippie" with Jeremy Scott at last year's NYFW. Now, Cyrus is dipping her toes back into the art world, designing a single cover for pop star Cody Simpson.

Much like Cyrus' other artwork, the cover of the single came together spontaneously from the things around her. She found the pictured, almost-dead flower in her living room and started to shoot it with a Polaroid camera. "Then instead of complicating things," she told Rolling Stone, "I said fuck it, I’m just going to shoot this shit on an iPhone." In describing the cover art, Cyrus said, "I just wanted something where people didn't have a stereotypical idea of what he was and could just look at the song for what it is, because it's a fucking epic song."

Simpson said his new-found freedom and evolution since ending his contract with mega record label Atlantic inspired his new single, entitled "Flower." The message must have hit close to home for Cyrus, whose previous artwork explores her post-Disney identity. "I told her where I was headed, and she was stoked," Simpson said.
