The EMP Museum in Seattle recently opened an exhibition that explores one of the most important elements of one of the most popular science fiction films of all time. Created by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts"Rebel, Jedi, Princess, Queen: Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume" provides a journey through George Lucas' galaxy in chapters, revealing design sketches, concept art, photographs, interviews, and other behind-the-scenes materials from the director, actors, artists, and designers.

From Princess Leia's slave bikini to Boba Fett's armor and clothing, the main attraction of the exhibit is the 60 original costumes from the first six Star Wars films.

According to the Associated Press, the costumes are displayed by Plexiglass barriers that are outfitted with loud security alarms that blare when someone gets too close. Flash photography is not allowed, and neither are selfie sticks, but you can pose with a sculpture of Darth Vader that is on view away from the other costumes.

The exhibition will remain at the EMP Museum through Oct. 4 and will then move on to another city on its 12-stop tour. Hit the EMP Museum's website for more information.
