Beams Plus has just lifted the curtain on its Spring/Summer 2015 lookbook; and for this go-around, the Japanese brand has infused its signature Americana style with military influences.

Aptly titled “Plus Spec,” the new collection draws inspiration from mid-century innovations, specifically the technological developments by the U.S. armed forces and the muted color palette they are commonly associated with.

But despite being dominated by items like MA-1 bombers, M65 field jackets, cargo pants, and Daisy Mae hats, the range still maintains the typical Beams Plus look with garments that are unmistakably American prep. You have pieces such as cable-knit sweaters, plaid shorts, gingham button-downs, and printed blazers—most of which are presented in highly technical fabrics like rip-stop cotton, nano-level water repellent wool, and breathable tartans. So you know these threads are as functional as they are good-looking.
