No, that’s definitely not a crucifix. Tom Ford really is selling a necklace that gives whole new meaning to the word “goldmember.” The necklaces first popped up at the designer's Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show back in June and had everyone debating about whether the phallic shape was intentional. Now, these 18 carat gold charms have popped up, so to speak, on the Tom Ford website. They are clearly labeled “penis necklace,” just to make it explicit that yes, this are indeed golden dicks.
Because variety is the spice of life, Ford’s penis pendant also comes in silver, and in your choice of small, medium and large.
It comes as no surprise for Ford, who has a history of incorporating risqué elements in both his designs and marketing techniques. He’s had a number of his ads banned, such as his 2007 men’s fragrance ad—shot by Terry Richardson, naturally—that showcased a bottle of cologne in between a model’s legs. His recent collection also featured nipple pasties which were seen on both Rihanna and Miley Cyrus at a recent amFAR gala.
