The 2015 NBA All-Star Jerseys Are (Thankfully) Not Hideous Sherseys

The NBA just unveiled the adidas-designed jersey for the 2015 All-Star Game, hosted by New York City, and the kits have a lot of details to parse out.

The jerseys will come in either white or black and have a red, white, and blue trim. Each jersey has a stripe of five unique stars to represent New York's boroughs. The individual stars consist of a pattern inspired by the orbit rings of the Unisphere in Queen's Corona Park, a wave design influenced by the water surrounding Staten Island, a star checkered like a taxi represents Manhattan, a vinyl record pattern to pay tribute to the Bronx's rich hip-hop history, and Brooklyn's star has a brick design like the borough's iconic brownstones.

The jerseys typically work to honor the city where All-Star weekend is being held in, and this year's iteration certainly does a great job of that. According to Chris Grancio, adidas’ global basketball general manager, the kits are the "most detailed and sophisticated uniforms to date."

Best of all, it seems as if the NBA has finally given up on trying to make sleeved jerseys happen—especially after last year's debacle

Another cool detail is that each participating athlete will receive a custom jacket with patches on it that recognize awards, such as MVP and Rookie of the Year, that the player has won.

You may not be playing in the All-Star game, or have a chance to attend, but luckily these erseys will be available on the NBA's official store, as well as its Fifth Avenue location.
