So we know Thanksgiving is all about, well, giving thanks, but it's also about something else that's almost as important: eating. With all that feasting comes the inevitable risk of gaining weight, and if Google map search trends are any indication, it's a risk that many New Yorkers are well aware of.

According to the search engine giant, the three most-mapped locations in NYC around Thanksgiving include "bus stop," which is likely a popular search year round; "Natural History Museum," which is one of the most popular  places to go and watch the balloons as they are inflated in advance of the Macy's Parade; and "tailor." While food-related searches are common nationwide, with the top in the country being "ham shop," "pie shop," and "liquor store," it seems New Yorkers are pretty proactive in coming up with a contingency plan for that holiday weight.

So this Thanksgiving, try not to eat so much that your clothes don't fit anymore, but if that does happen just follow the lead of those forward-thinking New Yorkers and get your clothes tailored. Added bonus: If you can resist the urge to go HAM on all that turkey and sweet potato pie, you might have enough leftovers to try some of these recipes.
